I went to a workshop on Saturday (March 28), conveniently located just a few blocks away from our house. I had no idea what it was about other than it would be creative and I could bring my watercolors. I love a good mystery.
I wound up in a Creative Journaling class. It was interesting to see what kinds of things one can do; collage is one of them. Artistic text was another; my project for the class used those two techniques with a watercolor study I did at the workshop.
I have been doing small studies of mouths, eyes, and noses. Noses are quite intimidating, so I stopped after the mouth and chin and headed to the piles and piles of interesting stuff available at the workshop. I knew I wanted words for eyes, and I found just what I needed. The rest was all spur-of-the-moment inspiration. It reminds me, among other things, of mixed media book covers that were common 50 years ago.
