#22: Shell Tree – 30 paintings in 30 days

I can’t believe I’ve done 22 paintings in September. <sounds of trumpets>

This is from a photo posted to Facebook by Shell Bell. A study for a possible painting – but I really like this miniature, not sure I will do a large treatment of it.

To keep things fairly rough, all painting done with a #11 round brush. It has a nice tip, so the idea of only very broad strokes went away quickly. 🙂 Still, I like the texture on the tree, so I think it was a good choice. Leaves done with a natural sea sponge.

4″ x 6″ cold press watercolor paper
