#2 of 30 paintings in 30 days for September

This painting was pretty ambitious; it just about wore me out to get it done in a day even though it’s very small (4″ x 6″ again). It’s got a lot of glazes, and a fair amount of color changes. It was rewarding to see it pop out at the end, however. 🙂

The picture doesn’t do justice to what I see on the paper; it has a kind of old-world oil painting sheen to it, somehow. I tired to tweak the image in Photoshop, but it just looks better in person–you will have to take my word on that. Click to view full size.

I’m going to have to try some simpler paintings if I’m going to survive this.
