I’ve joined an effort to paint 30 paintings in September, part of the South King County Watercolor Artists group on Facebook.
I’m starting out ahead; I got two small (4″ x 6″) paintings done over the weekend.
The painting for today is #1 of 30 in 30. Click image for full size.
I set up a simple 3-color palette for this: Ultramarine Blue for shadows, Quin. Burnt Scarlett for flesh tomes, and Hansa Yellow Deep as an accent. I did do some mixing, of course, to get other colors and shades, but I tried to keep it simple. No pencil drawing, direct brush to paper. From a black and white photo.
