This is from a photo that I found recently that I really liked, but I have modified it to be more of a story. This is a baby polar bear, and I have given him some berries to munch on.
Very straightforward glazing, more like a painting than a ketch, though, as I put a few hours into it rather than the 10 minutes I’ve done on the other sketches. I had somewhat different ideas going in, but I went in a fairly traditional direction. Today is my day for the flu, so wasn’t really interested in wild-ass creativity, just wanted to lay down some glazes on a pencil drawing and get something nice out of it. 🙂
Used a simple palette, four or five colors, but mixed quite a few. The only real thing that bugged me is the somewhat pink snow; i started laying in the wash before I recalled that I was going to leave major portions of it white! Sigh. So it goes. I had a lot of fun with it.
